Hello!
My name is Lynette. I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Virginia and I am also ASHA-certified. I earned my Bachelor's degree at Old Dominion University and my Master's degree at James Madison University in Speech Language Pathology. For the past 5 years I have worked as an elementary school Speech-Language Pathologist in Rockingham County Public Schools. Throughout my years in the school system, I have worked with children ages 2 to 12 who have speech and language delays. I also have experience caring for infants and toddlers.
More importantly, I adore children. I enjoy watching them grow, learn, and even make mistakes. I enjoy teaching them new concepts and words. I enjoy seeing them use learned concepts independently. And most of all, I enjoy watching their individual personalities develop as they experience life.
I am starting this daycare out of a need to pursue my true passion and to pursue what I feel God is calling me to. I really desire to create a space where children feel secure and know they are loved. Growing up, I attended a home daycare myself. Although it was long ago, I can still remember feeling totally loved and completely comfortable there. It honestly was like a second home for me, so much so that I called the woman who cared for me "Nana." Nana helped to give me an amazing start to life and allowed me to grow as an individual while also providing the guidance and support I needed at a young age. I hope that I can do the same for the children in my care.
Hope to Meet You Soon!!!
Sincerely,
Lynette Ellis, M.S. CCC-SLP
